Reader’s Question:

Are you required to carry car insurance in the state of Texas? If so, what is the minimum I could get?

Houston Texas

Car insurance is a necessity in the US, though there’s a perception that one saves money without it. There are several reasons why it’s practical to get an auto insurance given several unprecedented circumstances which we could also associate to possible risks. One reason is that its requirement in most states, which varies too in terms of principal.

In Texas, the minimum liability limits required is 25/50/25 which means $25,000 accounted for the person hurt in the accident, $50,000 for all parties injured and $10,000 for property damage liability.

Another logical thought to consider is that one’s driver’s license could be held if one doesn’t have auto insurance and if there’s a need to get one for another car, some insurance companies do not accommodate those who have not gotten insurance for their previous car purchased.

Shopping for a Competitive Auto Insurance Policy

There are two ways of purchasing an insurance policy; either you consult an agent or complete a form through online.

The premium payment set periodically is dependent on the kind of coverage insured. A wider coverage would also require an increase on premium payments.
